Friday Faves

It's that time of the week again. Here we go with some of my favorite things from this week.

1. Oscar: Hands down my favorite thing from this week. This little guy is just the sweetest dog in the world. He makes for wonderful company in that big, lonely house! He made a new friend this week when our friend Libbie came to stay with me.
He of course, occupies his time doing what he does best, napping. As a matter of fact, he is napping right now in my office. He made the journey to hang out with me since I am headed to Savannah after work.
Ready for a grueling day at the office
2. This picture: David's mom emailed me this picture yesterday and it absolutely made my day.
David recently acquired (against my protests at Wal-Mart in Baxley, GA) a pair of overalls. Granted, he bought them as a joke the other weekend when we went to Justin and Crystale's wedding. Crystale always said how back-woods redneck her part of the woods is, and David wanted to fit in. David wore said overalls Friday night to the lake house where everyone was staying- with no shirt and no shoes. It was hilarious, but slightly disturbing. Anyways, he brought them to my house over the weekend and put them on to hear me fuss. His mother said that she had a picture of him wearing overalls back in the day and she located it. Isn't he just adorable?

3. Peanuts! I couldn't resist grabbing up some green peanuts to boil. It takes forever to boil peanuts, but oh-so-worth the effort!
4. A new snack obsession: In the form of these bad boys -
Honey Maid Grahamfuls
Oh my goodness! I got the Banana Vanilla Creme variety (and I just heard Stacey gag from 200 miles away).  These things are like eating banana pudding. They are so yummy! I just picked up another box of them yesterday and I am now regretting not bringing them with me this weekend to Savannah.

Okay, that's enough for today. Gotta get back to work. Have a fabulous weekend, everyone!

Friday Faves

Happy Friday everyone! It's been a minute since I've done a Friday Faves post, so I figured I should do a quick one today.

1. Halloween is approaching - I'm excited that I might actually have some trick-or-treaters on Halloween. I have already shared my quick and easy Halloween wreath that I made earlier in the week.

Now, I'm wondering if I should whip up a few costumes for the boys. I have always wanted to do a Thing 1 and Thing 2 costume for the two puppies, cause that's what I have always called them. Especially when they were young and sooo destructive. How cute is this?

2. The lazy, fall afternoons - This week, it has actually felt a little bit like fall in Northwest FL/Southwest GA. It has been amazing! The weather is oh-so-nice and I really enjoy my afternoons after work outside enjoying this time of year.
It's amazing how destressing it is to watch her hop around and play. I made chili this week, so sitting outside in the cool air, eating a hot bowl of chili, and watching her hop around was perfect! Guess I'm a lot like my father in that regard, I would rather be outside. He liked to watch his cows roam around and I like to watch Glitzy do her bunny thing. She's fascinating.

3. Speaking of fall - That means that I have broken out these bad boys again!

That's right, the Uggs have come back out. They aren't the prettiest thing in the world, but they keep my feet nice and toasty, and I love that!

4. The "stud" come back - Granted studs have never truly left, but here lately I have been finding more and more cute ones. For this gal who isn't really a dangle earring lover, this is good news.  I got these at Target the other day and have really gotten a lot of use out of them.

I almost bought these as well, because I thought they looked a bit Kate Spade-ish to me.

5. Just the fact that it's Friday - It's Friday and that means I get to see David. Fridays are always the best. Thankfully, this weekend we have nothing going on and we can just relax and enjoy a lazy weekend. On the weekend agenda: probably hit up the Thomasville Fly In or the fair that is in town. And of course some college football. Go Gators!

Happy Friday, ya'll!

Friday Faves: Football Edition

This week in honor of the impending football season coming up in a couple of weeks, I thought I would do a special Friday Faves around the best time of the year! For guys, it's about the sport. But for us ladies, football season is about the party and the clothes!
Stacey and I at the Auburn vs Florida game last year
I love me a good tailgate- whether it is at the actual game or in the comfort of my living room. There is just something about Game Day Saturday that makes me happy. But you need to look good doing it! So most of my Faves are clothes related. Imagine that! If you can tell from the photo above, I am in desperate need of some Royal Blue additions to my closet for my beloved Gators. It's a sad state of affairs.  So, here are a few things to remedy that!

1. Chevron Dress- I love this little dress and it would be perfect for a hot Saturday here in the south.
From Totally Collegiate
2. Orange! Blue! Also a good option for you Gator Girls out there!
From Twelve Saturdays

From Totally Collegiate
This simple blue dress worn with a pop of orange from a fun statement necklace would be adorable.

I also loved this cute top that would be perfect for a more casual look paired with some jeans.
From Twelve Saturdays
3. Total Nole Envy- I am totally jealous that this top doesn't come in another color option. It would be so cute with some skinny jeans and some boots, preferably of the cowboy variety. It is the South after all!
From Twelve Saturdays
4. Some SEC love- Any home or office would look good with this adorable SEC Mascot painting. In the SEC, we are all huge rivals the day we play each other, but we support our fellow Conference members- especially when they are playing other non-SEC teams.
From Annie Laurie Art
5. Go Dawgs! (of the Citadel, that is)- I know David would love to make it to a Citadel game this year, and this dress needs to be in my closet for when we go. (thank goodness for the North Carolina Tar Heels for having the same color scheme. ha!)

From Totally Collegiate
6. The Ten Commandments of Football- Taken from this 2011 Southern Living Article
  1.  Thou shalt wear team colors. But think twice before adorning yourself with body paint—you don’t want to be the Internet photo that goes viral.
  2.  Thou shalt know—and sing—your team’s fight song from beginning to end. Sure, you can “watermelon watermelon” your way through the alma mater, but not memorizing the fight song is a fan failure.
  3. Thou shalt keep your language clean (unless, of course, the quarterback fumbles on fourth and goal).
  4. Thou shalt support the coach. Even when his calls are questionable.
  5. Thou shalt be respectful to visiting teams. Remember: Southern ladies and gentlemen never boo.
  6. Thou shalt set up a tailgate no fewer than three hours before kickoff (six if it’s a night game). Table linens and matching huggers encouraged, but not required.
  7. Thou shalt theme your tailgate food around the visiting rival. Gator bites, anyone?
  8. Thou shalt stay through the fourth quarter—rain or shine. That’s what ponchos are for, y’all.
  9. Thou shalt respect the solemnity of Game Day by planning weddings, births, and other life events around the football schedule.
  10. Thou shalt not covet other teams’ bowl games, national championships, or Heisman Trophy wins. There’s always next year
Alright, that's all I have for you today. If you want a really cute place to get the low-down on more Southern Football, check out The Game Day Belles. It's super cute!

Friday Faves- Birthday Edition

I realize that I still have 1.5 months to go until I turn 29 again the big 3-1. However, there is no time like the present to start thinking about presents. Ha! So for this edition of Friday Faves, I'm going to do a run down of some things I would love to have for my birthday. And there is a major theme on these items. I think I may have a problem!

Here we go!

1. Key Chain  - Real fancy, right? But I just adore these key fobs from The Pink Azalea. So super cute. They can make them in any color you want and.... of course get them monogrammed. You had me at monogram :)

Swirl Key Fob
Or I would settle for one of these acrylic ones:

2. Workout gear - Ok, maybe not workout gear. Maybe just lounging around the house gear. However, if I did have these, I might be motivated to walk around the neighborhood just because these are too cute to hide.
Running Shorts
3. Coffee Mug!  How cute would this be tooling around my office? (oh yeah, it's monogrammed as well)

4. iPhone Case - Maybe one of these days I will break down and get one, but at $60 a pop it's hard for me to justify it just so my phone is pretty. But I love them!

5. Erin Condren Life Planner - Just typing this out makes me feel like I am cheating on my beloved Lily Pulitzer planners that I have used for the last couple of years. But everyone raves about these planners, so I would love to try them out!

Although, I wouldn't turn down my beloved Lily Planner if given to me!

6. A New Camera Lens! Need to add to my arsenal of torture devices :-)

Cheap option
70-300 mm
Or splurge!
55-300 mm
7. A New Wallet - Love this cheerful green!
Kate Spade
8. Still want these earrings
Bauble Bar Peach Cut Studs
9. Stationery -  Every good Southern girl needs stationery. To write thank you notes or to just say hello. I currently have none, so I need to restock! These light and bright ones are too cute!

Stationery
But of course, I'm always a fan of the classics! Can't go wrong with an elegant embossed monogram.

10. Watch- It's safe to say that I have a MK watch addiction. I love them. I still have my eye on the tortoise shell one. Fear not, I'm sure one day I will break down and buy it.
Michael Kors
But I wouldn't turn down this Timex watch. I really want one :) You know, for casual days.
Timex Weekender
Wow. I just realized that I went a tad nuts with this. Sorry!

Friday Faves

I'm finally back with a Friday Faves post! I was busy out on the lake last Friday to do a post, but I'm not going to complain about that one! Which brings me to my first favorite of the week.

One
Spending a long weekend at Lake Eufaula with my favorite people. We had an absolute blast and made so many memories. It was fantastic!

Two
And speaking of long weekends, I'm totally looking forward to spending some time with my family at Indian Pass this weekend! Woot, woot!!! I love, love, love the beaches of Gulf County. Mainly because it still feels like "Old Florida" to me and isn't all commercialized and a million tourists aren't there to annoy me. It's quiet and relaxing. And not to mention beautiful!

Three
Getting a surprise visit yesterday from my mother and my aunt. That was the best surprise! These ladies are travelers, let me tell you! They started out in Pensacola, FL yesterday morning and by that afternoon were in Thomasville, GA. They are now headed up to Dothan, AL and will be in Indian Pass, FL tomorrow. Professionals. 'Nuff said. They were in Thomasville to hit up the Bridal Shop. My aunt is trying to find her mother of the groom dress for Heath's upcoming wedding. And the one she tried on that she is considering is Gorgeous with a capital G! Loved it!

Four
I love my fake J-Crew necklace. I tried to take a picture of me wearing it the other day. That was an unmitigated disaster.

As you can see, the timer on my phone wasn't wanting to cooperate with me that day.

Five
My new favorite cup. I am officially obsessed. I've been wanting one of these cups for a while. Mainly one with my monogram on it (and that is still going to be in the cards), but I picked this one up when David and I were in Charleston. Love it!
Bonus
I usually only do 5 favorites, but this totally made my week. Hopefully it's ok that I post it :-) Heath sent me this picture and I died laughing!
I told him that he looked like he should be in the cast of Hee Haw!

Alright peeps. That's all I have for you this week. Have a fabulous weekend!

Friday Faves-4th of July Edition

I don't really have any Friday Faves of the week, other than spending some quality family time over the 4th of July holiday. Who's with me about hating when the 4th falls in the middle of the week? Add to it that we had several people out of the office this week, which meant no extra days off for Ashley this week, which is fine I guess.

First, let me take a moment to talk about my favorite man on this earth, my father.
You will never find him just sitting around. He is ALWAYS piddling on some project or another. He is the hardest working man I know and I absolutely adore him. He really is my hero. <3 This weekend, he had a new toy- a bow. More specifically for bow fishing. (SMH..) My brother and father had to get it rigged up and tested a few times on Tuesday. It was pretty comical to watch. My brother was teaching him how to use it "properly" and if you have a brother/father combo like I do, it is always funny to watch them interact.
Needless to say, things didn't go according to plans during the test run and an arrow had to be retrieved out of the water.

Luckily, Brad was able to find it, so all's well that ends well.

Unfortunately on Wednesday, it rained all day long, so we weren't able to get out and enjoy the sunshine. But that was ok with me as well. I got a much needed nap in snuggled up with my puppies. So no complaints on my end, especially since I had a late night the night before.

Tuesday night, I headed out on the river with my father and cousin Brandon, for a little fish gigging excursion. {how redneck are we? ha!}

It was so pretty out on the Chipola River with the full moon and all. It was gorgeous, and if my camera would have cooperated, or if I knew how to use it in low light..., I could have taken some pretty pictures.
Brandon and I took turns between holding the lights and gigging. I'm not really that great at either, but especially the gigging part. Guess my hand/eye coordination and depth perception aren't the best. But I did manage to get this ugly guy.

That would be a gar fish. His face is hanging down, if you can't tell. And I totally look like a deer caught in the headlights, which I was. Having a bright flash go off in your face when it's pitch black dark outside is startling.
All in all it was a great holiday. I even got to go down to Scott's Ferry and watch my nephew and his cousin swim a little bit on Wednesday evening. Isn't Rendi cute?
Oh and meet WeeMan...he's not so cute :-)
He's a Blue Heeler/Jack Russell mix. But he's sweet.

Well, that's about all I have to share with you and my favorite moments from the weekend. Hope you all had a wonderful Independence Day and that you have a fantastic weekend!
