Elisabeth and Heath- The Wedding

This past weekend, a very special event took place in our family. A very special woman entered into our family by marrying my cousin, Heath. Words cannot express how happy I am for Heath and Elisabeth. Heath finally found his other half- his forever. The wedding was absolutely gorgeous. I hate I didn't take any photos of the setup. I hardly took any pictures at all at the actual wedding. I'm still kicking myself for that one. Guess I was too busy having a good time!

Friday evening, we kicked off the wedding celebrations at the Rehearsal Dinner. My Aunt Susan and mom really out did themselves on the decorations. The room was so beautiful!

Here I am with the man of the hour. I love this guy so much!

I think I enjoyed watching him during all of this the most. He was so excited and happy.

Here I am with my beautiful mother and Aunt Susan. They both looked stunning!

I was glad that David made the journey all the way from Savannah to Atmore, AL for all of the wedding festivities. He's a trooper for coming all that way!
Stacey and my Uncle Brett. Don't they clean up nice? I wish I had taken a better picture of Stacey all dressed up. She looked fabulous!

The monogram on the buffet table was a labor of love for my mother. She went and collected cotton from my dad's field and hot glued the bracks onto styrofoam letters. She burned her fingertips more than once getting those cotton bracks on there! But it turned out so nice!
I made her pose with her creation. I will have to do a full tutorial to show how she made it at a later date!

I played photographer before we left for the Rehearsal Dinner. I wanted to capture Heath getting ready.

That last picture cracks me up. I made Brad do the "prom" photo of helping his date into the car :-)
Finally the big day arrived on Saturday. Heath was so super excited. The wedding and reception were gorgeous. Simply gorgeous. I'm still mad I didn't take any pictures. Most of these I have stolen off of Facebook. Ha!

So here's to wishing the happy couple a lifetime of love and happiness. Love you Heath and Elisabeth!

Party Hopping

This past weekend was full of showers! Ok, just two, but still- it was a lot for one day. My mother and Aunt Ronda hosted a family shower for my cousin Heath's bride-to-be, Elisabeth. Out of respect for my mother, I won't go into any other details other than it was beautiful. I won't divulge the madness/craziness behind the scenes. Wink, wink!
Here is the hostess with the mostest cooking her little heart out before all the guests arrived.

The table all set and ready to go. Everything was super delicious! My mom made a breakfast casserole that was the bomb.com.
All the Robbins ladies (and future) gathered together. Now that I look at this, I wonder where my grandmother was for this. Ha!
The future sister-in-laws. I have to say, Heath did good picking out Elisabeth. She is an absolute delight and such a sweetheart.

One of the highlights of the party was that my {great} Aunt Essie was able to come to the shower. She is a trooper, I tell ya!
This is where my grandmother was- playing with the baby! He is 6 weeks old and oh-so precious!

Here is everyone all gathered together. It was wonderful to see everyone. Sadly, showers like this is the only time that we all get together!

Heath even made an appearance at this shower. He had to come open his gift!

So, that was our brunch shower that morning. Later that night, we had a couples shower.

All smiles before the party! The happy couple and my Aunt Susan {or Birdie} and my Uncle Brett.

I had to include this picture because I thought it was just so darn cute! <3>
The hostess had a really cute idea for dinner. Those boxes on the table all contained our meal. We had bbq sandwiches, marinated green been salad, potato salad and chips. It was too cute!

I think Heath really enjoyed his shower! If you look at the picture above you may see something quite shiny and big. That beautiful silver present caused quite the ruckus. My mother bought what she thought was silver paper. It turned out to be nothing more than clear cellophane. So, here comes the melt down and panic. Because where my family lives, there is no Wal-Mart you can just run to and grab some wrapping paper. So she improvised....with tin foil.

She then wrapped the cellophane around it. I thought it looked fine. But she was still mortified.

So do my mother a favor, and pin this idea. Tin Foil/cellophane wrapping. It's the next big thing! Heath and Elisabeth didn't seem to mind the homemade approach.

Plus, like someone pointed out, after you unwrap your present you can sure bake a whole lotta potatoes!

Ha! Love you, mother!

So that was the epic day of showers. It was an interesting day- but a good one!

Wedding Season Has Arrived

It's official. Wedding Season for me is officially here. Not only is my cousin Heath getting married in December, but several of David's friends are getting married as well. We have two weddings in September and one in October. Then of course, Heath's in December. Weddings and babies come in cycles. Have you noticed?

This past weekend, we journeyed over to my parent's hometown to attend a couple's shower for Heath. Stacey, David, and I joined up with my brother and his wife to make the trip together. We had fun!
I loved riding in a car with a DVD player. Made that 3 hour trip fly by. What made the trip seem very long was due to the harmonica that Brad bought when we stopped at Cracker Barrel to eat lunch. Um. Yeah.
Stacey's dog Bentley wasn't a fan. I may have to agree with Bentley on that one.

The shower for Heath and Elisabeth was really lovely. The house had an awesome backyard that I would love to have one day. Complete with an outdoor kitchen and tv room.

Heath was so cute. I think he was more excited about the party than Elisabeth!
We all had a great time and it was wonderful to celebrate this beautiful couple! I'll leave you with a few randoms from the shower!

Cheers to the happy couple!
