Oak Glen

This house plan is one of my favorites. This will be the house we build if we sell our lot and can build somewhere else. This house doesn't really fit in with our neighborhood where our lot is now. Plus, it is a little bit bigger than what we are planning on building. But I love, love, love the look of this house, even if the kitchen is far off from the garage, and all of the other bedrooms are upstairs. (a little inconvenient with small children...) This house plan is from Southern Living. Note: the picture above is not the Oak Glen house, it is actually the bigger sister plan, Forest Glen. Very similar plan, just bigger with some modifications, but close enough to get an idea!

My New Project

Okay......I thought I would do something fun this week. We are getting closer on getting our house sold, so I have decided that I am really going to get crackin' on the hunt for a perfect house plan. So everyday this week, I am going to post a different house plan that I like and I would love to get your input!! Let me go get my first one for today!

Happy Friday

Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Friday and a good weekend. We are moving my cousin, Stacey in her new place this weekend (trip # 1 of 2, that is!). So, I will be pretty busy. Oscar did want to say hi and since he is at the office with me today, let me show you how hard he works. He is working on his beauty sleep, but he did manage to wake up and let me take his picture! Also of note, we have one month to go until we can pick up his little brothers. We are still undecided on their names, so any suggestions would be great!! Oh and if you are wondering about the name change of the blog, thought I better since some other bloggers have gotten in trouble for using copyrighted names and since we are about to have a house full of dachshunds, thought the name fit!!

Happy 34th Anniversary, Mom and Dad!

Tomorrow my parents will be celebrating their 34th wedding anniversary. As a present, my brother and I sent them to Savannah for the weekend to enjoy a little alone time. (Apparently, Savannah is the place to be for your anniversary!!) Thought I would share a few pictures of where they are staying. I found a great new hotel: Avia Hotel. It is close to Riverwalk and all of the downtown funness! So, I hope that they enjoy their weekend!

Just a little background of their wedding. They wed on July 25, 1975 in Bratt, FL at Shiloh Freewill Baptist Church. My mother was a blushing bride at the ripe old age of 18. Daddy was a craddle-robber at the age of 21 when they got married. I only wish I had a picture on me of their wedding day. Mike was a sport with a white sports coat, and a pink (ok white) CARNATION!! Gross. It was a choice, I guess, for a good old 70s wedding. (my children will probably say the same thing about my wedding one day) Anyways....Love you lots, mom and dad. Have fun this weekend and bring me back a present! (kidding)...no, really I'm not! ;)

Birdie's Birthday

This weekend was filled full of birthday fun. We had a party in honor of my Aunt Susan and her birthday. It was a nice day full of good family and friends, lots of laughter, and maybe some picking on the parents from me and Stacey! So, happy birthday Aunt Susan (aka Birdie or Bootsie)! Hope you have a great birthday!

And for Stacey's benefit, I added a picture of her with her mom and the infamous balloons that sparked a battle about where they were to be placed.

And because Stacey made me...my original post didn't include this cause I didn't want to make Birdie mad, but Stacey made me!!

Ode to Oscar

I thought that I would start out this week by giving a little shout out to my sweet baby, Oscar. He has been such a good friend and a loving pet. I wanted to share a few pictures from the July 4th weekend of Oscar lounging around Mimi's house and swimming in the creek. And yes mother, there are a few bathing suit shots of you, so don't be mad. They are brief I promise. So here is to my precious little doxie.

And since Joseph and I love our baby so much, we decided that we should make our family a little bit bigger. See this is where the surprise comes in and this is how I am choosing to tell my mother our great news that our family is expanding. See Joseph and I are expecting, with not one but TWO babies. Surprise!! We are super excited and scared all at the same time.

Our new arrivals come August 31st from a stork in St. Augustine. Did I forget to mention that they were two dachshund puppies? Got ya! Hee Hee! Sorry I couldn't resist. Here they are at a few days old. They were born July 6th, so they are still pretty tiny!

Happy 4th of July

Just want to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday. So eat a lot, laugh a lot, and don't get too much sun!

Also, take some time to thank God for giving us such a great nation and ask Him to continue to bless this wonderful nation in which we are all privileged to live in.
