"Yes, I love technology. But not as much as you, you see. Yes, I love technology. Always and forever."
There's really not too much to this post, other than I just wanted an excuse to go all "Kip" on you guys this morning!
Here is a glimpse about how I spend most nights. Since David lives 4+ hours away, we have to use FaceTime if we want to "see" each other during the week. I guess we could do it old school and just talk on the phone, but that's not as much fun. My only complaint would be that I have to actually pay attention to him. No secretly watching Dance Moms while talking to him (and yes I just admitted to watching that). My other complaint would be that no matter what angle you hold the phone, you still look like a major dufus! But since David and I both agree that we are major dorks, we are ok with this. Case in point, the photo above.
Technology can be a wonderful thing. I think about my friends whose husbands/brothers are over seas in the service and have to use Skype to talk to their loved ones. My friend recently had a baby and her brother was able to see the baby at the hospital via Skype. I love that moments like that are possible through something as simple as a phone or computer. I think about my mother and when she got married. She was married at the age of 18 and moved with my father 3.5 hours away from her family and friends. They moved to the farm where the closest neighbor was a 70+ year old couple about a half a mile from their house. She only went to town like once a week and could only call home long-distance every two weeks, maybe once a week, if she was lucky. Fast forward 30 something years and now we have smart phones where you can constantly text or send photos/videos to each other. Where you can FaceTime each other and see each other face to face. It's amazing to me how much technology has advanced. I think back to growing up. If you had a bag phone in high school, you were majorly high-tech. Don't even get me started on how cool Zack Morris was with his sweet mobile phone a-la Saved by the Bell style. I think I got my first cell phone my first year of college, which was roughly around 2000-2001 or so. Granted, I am kinda glad that we didn't have cell phones back then like we do now. Can you imagine your parents being able to pinpoint your exact location when you were in high school? I shudder to think about it (hahaha, love you mom!). Anyways, I realize that I am going on and on about cell phones. What has happened to me? So I am stopping now and continuing with the real reason I wanted to do this post. And that was just to post Napoleon Dynamite videos :-)
And of course I love to make this quote to David when we have been chatting it up. I'm trying to get him to grow a mustache and get some sweet Kip glasses. Ha!
Love is like a dove. Flying up to heaven above. Yes I love technology. Always and forever. Always and forever.
