Weekend Mashup

I guess today I will post up a few more pictures from this past weekend. It's nothing too exciting, but for lack of anything else to post about today, I will go with it.

I got to take Oscar this weekend for his first trip to Savannah (and partake in his first Parker's Chewy Ice cup). It was nice to have some company on that 4 hour drive!
I took this picture for David. I ALWAYS threaten to make him take me to Club One to go see Lady Chablis from Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil fame. Let's say this club wouldn't be one that we would normally frequent, considering the fact that Lady Chablis is actually a man named Frank.

I was nervous about how Oscar and Mox would be around each other. Mox is still a puppy for most parts-granted a 90 pound puppy- and Oscar is an old man at this point. I was really just worried that Moxley would accidentally sit or step on Oscar and hurt his back. Good news is that they got along wonderfully! Although, I think Mox was jealous that he didn't get all of my attention.

What really surprised me this weekend, was how much Oscar loved David! This was their first weekend to truly get any quality time together. Oscar is a typical dachshund. He only likes a handful of people (mainly just me and my mother) and really doesn't like men. But he LOVED David. Oscar must be a great judge of character! (he didn't care for the ex-hubs, that should have told me something...)

You will see that Oscar got the prime real estate during nap time. Poor Mox had to come sit with me while the other two napped away.

I think David enjoyed having Oscar there. I know I did. The true test will be when we bring the two puppies up for a weekend. Then things may get interesting!

Saturday night, we hit up downtown with our friends Paden and Lauren. Here we are on our way out. David really is enjoying all my picture taking.....NOT!

This is the only picture I got of the crew that evening.

We had a great evening. We went to the Tapas restaurant downtown, then went and played a little shuffleboard and darts at one of David's favorite hangout spots.

At the end of the night, we went to River Street and went to the Dueling Piano bar. I have been begging David to take me for ages--because I love, love, love dueling pianos! Granted, I had no idea what this place was like until we walked in It was much bigger than I expected and there were several bachelorette parties going on. Apparently, that's the place to be in Savannah!

We had a wonderful evening and it was nice to switch things up this weekend. Usually, we are fairly low key. Sunday, we all just rested and I cooked lunch for David. Thanks to Stacey, David is now a huge fan of broccoli cornbread, just like I am! After lunch, Oscar and I packed up and headed back to Thomasville.

So that wraps up my weekend. Looking forward to this coming up weekend because David and I are going home for Father's Day. Always good times to be had in Calhoun County, FL!
