I don't really need this cup of coffee that I am sipping on at the moment. I had a very nice wake-up party this morning on the drive to work.
Come on....doesn't everyone have the Footloose album on their iPod? Yes? No? Am I the only loser that does? (then I won't admit that I also have the Bye, Bye Birdie soundtrack, lol) What got me on a Footloose kick this morning was that I had CMT on while I was getting ready and Blake Shelton's video for the new version of the Footloose theme song was on. Blake- I love you, but you are no Kenny Loggins, mmkay? Granted, I have not watched the new movie yet, so I can't really judge it. However, I am just not a fan of movie remakes-especially of ones that were perfect to begin with. What's next? Zac Efron and Shia LeBouf or some other douchebags remaking Top Gun? Or Miley Cyrus remaking Girls Just Wanna Have Fun or that guy from Super Bad (McLovin) remaking Weird Science? It's just bad all the way around. Don't mess with my 80's movies. (I can just see them trying to remake St. Elmo's Fire or The Breakfast Club with some ridiculous Disney Channel cast-offs...) They tried doing this time and time again. It. Doesn't. Work. Not when you have the original movie to compare the new movie to. It's just not fair to the new movie and does a horrible injustice to the old movie. I hear they want to remake Dirty Dancing- No, no, no, no, nooooo! Ok, I will get off my soap box now. I had to complain for a bit.
Back to my love of Footloose and the awesomeness that is the soundtrack. Come on? Quiet Riot, Foreigner, Sammy Hagar, Shalamar....and let's not forget Mike Reno and Ann Wilson's awesome Almost Paradise duet. (we did our Junior prom around that song. haha!) Guess the new soundtrack is more Country whereas the first was more Rock. To each their own, I guess. The old version is still just a classic. And I love jammin' out to it in the car, looking ridiculous. Thank goodness for tinted windows!
Oh and just because I am on this subject and I love Kevin Bacon, I want to post one of my favorite episodes of Will and Grace on here where the Baconator dances with Will.
Back to the movie, who can beat Kevin dancing in an abandoned warehouse jamming out to Never?? Answer = nobody. And on a side note-who else doesn't just dance and dance when they are upset/mad? haha
Ok, I know this post is really dumb, so I apologize for that. I just felt like venting a little this morning.
