Happy Easter!

Sorry I am a little late with my Easter post, but I got a little sidetracked. Turns out the Easter Bunny brought me a stomach virus, so blogging was the least of my problems. Thankfully, I had a wonderful nurse who took care of me. Thanks, Stacey! You were awesome!

Anywhoo, back to Easter festivities. Luckily, I had Good Friday off, which was awesome. David came in on Thursday night after work and he brought his little buddy, Mr. Moxley.
Mox and Bentley became fast friends. Poor Bentley was covered in slobber due to some over zealous playing, but I think he enjoyed having some company to play with.
Friday, we got up and ran downtown quickly to do a little shopping and to eat at Jonah's. Then we loaded up and headed to Blountstown. We ate dinner with his parents and sister. After dinner, we then headed down to David's house down in the swamp to enjoy some nice quiet time in the middle of nowhere.
Here he is welcoming me to his place. His great aunt left him this house when she died, which adjoins his family's land down on the Apalachicola River, close to where Brad and I usually enjoy our 4-wheeler drives that I have posted about before. David hasn't really got to enjoy using it that much, but we gave it a good effort this weekend. We had intentions of getting up early on Saturday to go turkey hunting, but that never came to be. I was too tired to get up at the crack of dawn, so we just slept in and then went and rode around the woods for awhile.

I took this picture as a throw back to the many, many times David and I rode around the swamp in that very truck back in the day. And of course, we had our sidekick joining us as well. He wasn't about to be left behind.

It was a gorgeous day, perfect for being out in the woods.

Later, I got to show David his first love back at my parents house.
This is David's Scrambler that he drove during high school. My father bought this from him to use for spare parts for his Scrambler after David was done with it. He hasn't seen it since selling it to us over 10 years ago. It was a "special" moment. Ha!

His old 8 balls were still hanging from the rear view mirror!

And we both got a kick that his Welcome to Florida, Now go home! Bumper stick was still attached and going strong.

So that's part one of Easter Weekend. Next up: the Easter Egg Hunt!
