Yummy Goodness

Hey everyone. Hope you all had a great weekend. I did. I just want to share a great recipe that has fast become one of my favorites (and Joseph's!). I came across this recipe just doing a look-through of my pantry and saw it on the back of a can of condensed milk. It is so easy and so good, that I couldn't resist sharing!

Magic Cookie Bars

  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs (one sleeve/package of graham crackers)
  • 1 stick butter, melted
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 1/3 cups coconut
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a small bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs and butter. Mix well. Press crumb mixture into a 13x9 inch baking pan.
2. Pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over crumbs. (I do this with a spoon and just pour over crumbs. Much easier than just pouring the milk over and trying to even out over crumbs!)
3. Layer with remaining ingredients.
4. Bake for 25 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool. Chill if desired. Cut into bars.
These are like drops of heaven. They are so good. I didn't have coconut the first time I made them. I made them with coconut today and to tell you the truth, I could leave it out or take it. It doesn't really matter. Just if you really like coconut. I also used pecans as my chopped nuts. These are the easiest things to make and would be great if you had to bring some baked good to a party because they cut really great and taste amazing!!! I am always looking for easy things to make and believe me, Joseph loves these things. That's why I had to make them this afternoon because he was craving them.
I will post about my weekend tomorrow. I need to save something for work tomorrow!! Until then...
